Artist’s Biography/Statement
As far as I can remember, I have always created. From the time I was a little girl, I had created an imaginary world of my own. Perhaps it served as a survival mechanism or a way to chase my boredom. But whenever I would enter it, I would experience a deep sense of harmony. At that time, I didn’t know that I could make a living out of it but I knew that I would devote my life to my creation, to my drawings. Creating is now my mission and my responsibility. I can’t imagine my life without art. It is my reason to live and the path where I can fully bloom. My art also provides a wonderful opportunity to travel and to meet people. I dream of going all over the world, since I believe traveling still remains one of the greatest ways to learn about human nature.
Above all, I love to work with coloured pencils and to feel the texture of paper. They are definitely my favourite medium. This ritual fills me with an incredible energy. Before starting a new drawing, there are a series of steps that I undertake. There is always a long preparation before each of my coloured pencil paintings as well as the drawing of a great number of sketches. I believe all this process helps me to evolve with a greater depth.
My creativity is mostly expressed from real life models. I enjoy working with individuals and perceiving their energy. My fascination with people is my main source of inspiration. To express an emotion through forms and colours makes for an extraordinary experience. Through my drawing, I transpose on paper what touches and brings me wonderment. I constantly create beauty — beauty of human beings, of some sort of universe.
This is why I seek to develop a greater awareness of my art. This quest constitute my main driving force to evolve and to continuously create new paintings. In spite of many years of creation and research, my talent is in constant evolution. My goal is to improve and learn new elements for each drawing. But isn’t it the pursuit of every artist? To vibrate and surpass oneself with each vision, with each creation…
